JACKSON – Due to a high likelihood of stormy weather, Saturday’s Inaugural Parade will be canceled.
Information provided by the National Weather Service in Jackson and the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency indicates the potential for poor weather.
Governor Phil Bryant said he appreciates the hard work that has gone into planning the parade but holds the safety of citizens as top importance.
“I have consulted with forecasters, and based on available information, have decided to exercise caution and cancel the parade,” Governor Phil Bryant said. “I was so excited to see the enthusiasm surrounding this event and appreciate everyone’s hard work and preparation.”
